Old Vintage Violin by Rigat Rubus ? It looks a little like a tte is at the end of Rubus making Rubustte, but I think it's Rubus from my research. Other similar items I've seen online speak of Rigat Rubus being a Russian maker of violins. I don't know for sure where this one was made.
THERE IS SOME HANDWRITTING ON THE INSIDE ALSO THAT APPEARS TO SAY IT WAS REPAIRED OR RESTORED IN 1918. I KNOW NO WAY OF CONFIRMING THIS. I TOOK PICTURES OF THE LABLE AS WELL AS I COULD SO YOU CAN LOOK FOR YOURSELF. THE INSTRUMENT, THOUGH SOLD AS IS, LOOKS TO BE IN FAIRLY GOOD SHAPE. THERE IS A CRACK ON TOP THAT NEEDS ATTENDING TO. THE SOUND POST IS STILL IN PLACE (see photo). THE WOOD IS BEAUTIFUL IN MY OPINION. I HAVE DONE NO TYPE CLEANING OF THIS INSTRUMENT MYSELF. THIS IS A CONSIGNMENT, SO NEGOTIATIONS ARE LIMITED AND MAY TAKE A LITTLE TIME, but Possible none the less.
From one end to the other is appoximately 23 & 1/4 inches. Approximate width on sides is 1 & 1/2 inches, though it does arch up on the top and bottom. Lower bout is approximately 7 & 7/8 inches. Upper bout approximately 6 & 1/4 inches wide.
Needs work. Sold AS IS. Includes case & instrument as pictured only.
See pics and let me know if you got questions and I'll TRY and answer them.
