PEAVEY T-40 Bass Guitar Black vintage 1983

This guitar is in overall fantastic shape for it's age. I'd give it a 8 or possibly 9 out of 10. The previous owner did sweat or have acidic hands. The strings when I replaced them were filthy. Also, some minor plate pitting in places, but this seems Very minimal. I've offered lots of photos. When replaceing the strings, I lubricated the saddle screws so the are ready and free for adjustment. Also the truss rod is free and moving for adjustment. I have the strings at what I'd call a medium action as one moves up towards the 12th fret. This can be adjusted as just mentioned by saddles and truss rod. I have not sprayed the electronics as to do it well I'd have to take off the pickguard and did not want to get into that.

Electronics are all functioning to my testing. Both pickup work electronically and can be adjusted in height by 4 screws. The selector switch and the phase switch are working. The volume and tone knobs are working, including the tone knobs doing the double coil around 1-7 and to single coil around 7-10.

Case is also in excellent shape. This is a great example of a soon to be 40 year old bass. Frets look really good also. Again see photos. The first few frets Might have had some leveling, but I can't really tell, but did take a close up photo to see. OH AND, the previous owner had masking tape on fret 5 and 7 marked with a D and an E. I guess they played lots of A string. I did remove that tape, and it cleaned up quite well as seen in photos 14, 15 and 16.
